From 2017 to date, the Regulators Monitoring Programme (REMOP) has established that resolving the challenges within the basic education and electricity sectors is critical for national development. The objective of REMOP is to foster proactive disclosure of information, transparency and accountability among regulatory institutions in Nigeria through the active engagement of the media and other actors.
The photographs taken in the course of the pilot phase and published in the coffee books reiterate the need for an integrated development approach in tackling the issues even as the media continues to stimulate social change through ethical and investigative reporting that considers issues of basic education and electricity as interconnected entities rather than individual subjects.
